Wine & Weave

1 July, 18:30 - 22:30

€55.00
If you’ve started learning how to weave on a shaft loom, and are looking for more practice, this social weaving evening is for you!

Wine & Weave!

This wine & weave session is designed for everybody that already has some experience in shaft-weaving and is looking for more practice. You will watch your cloth grow row by row while drinking a glass of wine with fellow weavers and enjoying the rhythmic pace of weaving. These sessions are all about freestyle weaving and doing whatever feels best for you. Without the pressure to make a product or following a strict lesson plan, Emma will be on hand to help you with any problems and (naturally) to join in the weaving fun!

Please note this is a self-guided weaving session and not an educational workshop. All participants should already have experience weaving on an 8-shaft loom. If you are new to weaving, then check out the Weave 101 workshop to get started!

What’s included?

  • Your own loom for the duration of the workshop, pre-threaded and ready to weave
  • All yarns and weaving materials
  • Access to a catalogue of weave structures
  • Wine! (Non-alcoholic options also available)

What will I learn?

  • Practicing and developing your skills as a shaft-weaver
  • New techniques and structures, depending on your project

What will I make?

  • Small samples that can be cut off the loom and taken home

About Emma

Emma is a British-American weaver who has been based in Berlin for the last seven years. She has a BA in Woven Textile Design, along with an MA in Weaving from the Royal College of Art in London. She has worked across the textile industry in commercial design, performance materials, research, restoration and textile engineering. Emma has her own label of woven interiors accessories and also works on independent projects, most of which are run from her studio in Wedding, filled with six looms and an unholy amount of yarn.

Emma is a weave-geek through and through, and loves being able to spread her passion for her craft through her collection, projects, blog and this new series of workshops.
