SUMMARY:Wine & Weave
DESCRIPTION:If you’ve started learning how to weave on a shaft loom\, and are looking for more practice\, this social weaving evening is for you!\n\n\nWine & Weave!\n \nThis wine & weave session is designed for everybody that already has some experience in shaft-weaving and is looking for more practice. You will watch your cloth grow row by row while drinking a glass of wine with fellow weavers and enjoying the rhythmic pace of weaving. These sessions are all about freestyle weaving and doing whatever feels best for you. Without the pressure to make a product or following a strict lesson plan\, Emma will be on hand to help you with any problems and (naturally) to join in the weaving fun! \n \nPlease note this is a self-guided weaving session and not an educational workshop. All participants should already have experience weaving on an 8-shaft loom. If you are new to weaving\, then check out the Weave 101 workshop to get started! \n \n \nWhat’s included?\n\nYour own loom for the duration of the workshop\, pre-threaded and ready to weave\nAll yarns and weaving materials\nAccess to a catalogue of weave structures\nWine! (Non-alcoholic options also available)\n\nWhat will I learn?\n\nPracticing and developing your skills as a shaft-weaver\nNew techniques and structures\, depending on your project\n\nWhat will I make?\n\nSmall samples that can be cut off the loom and taken home\n\n \n \nAbout Emma\nEmma is a British-American weaver who has been based in Berlin for the last seven years. She has a BA in Woven Textile Design\, along with an MA in Weaving from the Royal College of Art in London. She has worked across the textile industry in commercial design\, performance materials\, research\, restoration and textile engineering. Emma has her own label of woven interiors accessories and also works on independent projects\, most of which are run from her studio in Wedding\, filled with six looms and an unholy amount of yarn. \nEmma is a weave-geek through and through\, and loves being able to spread her passion for her craft through her collection\, projects\, blog and this new series of workshops. \n \n \n \n \nFAQs\nAre there other dates available?\nTo see the other available dates\, just visit our website. \n \nWhat language is Wine & Weave in?\nInstruction takes place in English\, but feel free to spend the evening chatting in whichever language you prefer! \n \nIs there an age limit for the Wine & Weave?\nThe minimum age to participate is 18. \n \nHow do I get to there?\nThe nearest subway station is Reinickendorfer Straße (U6). The nearest S-Bahn stations are Wedding (S42 & S46) and Humboldthain (S1 & S2). Nearby buses are the M27\, 120 and 247. \n\nWhat should I bring with me?\nAll weaving materials will be provided\, but if you have any yarns or materials you would like to try out\, feel free to bring them with you! This can be anything from thin embroidery yarn to chunky knit yarns\, or even unconventional materials like metal wires. These evenings are all about play and experimentation! \n\nI already know how to weave\, is Wine & Weave suitable for me?\nYes! Wine & Weave is all about practicing and developing your existing skills\, so this is the perfect place to spend time with some looms and fellow weavers. \n\nDo I need to bring my printed ticket with me?\nPlease bring either your printed ticket or your confirmation on your phone. \n\nI booked a ticket but can’t make\, can I transfer my ticket or get a refund?\nIf you’re not able to make it to Wine & Weave and want to transfer your ticket to another date or discuss a refund\, please contact hello@wovenbywood.com so we can try to find the best solution. \n\nHow can I contact you with further questions?\nSend your questions to hello@wovenbywood.com and we’ll get back to you as quickly as possible.
